  • CSULB and transfering

As I approach my fourth year at community college, I think it’s time to start looking toward the future. I honestly never thought I would even finish college, let alone be so involved and get to where I am now. When I was at ACP, my instructor took us on a campus tour to CSU Long Beach, where they apparently have an AMAZING design and arts program. After getting the tour, and meeting up with one of the motion design instructors, I can’t help but feel really sold on going. The campus looks beautiful, and it would still be in California so I wouldn’t be far from home. I’m still a bit on the edge, as I guess I’m just afraid to want to journey out from home. But we all have to move forward I suppose, no progress was ever made sitting around. I still have time to think about it, so I’ll probably make another post with my decision.

  • JACC/ACP 2025

This weekend I attended the JACC/ACP Long Beach conference with my team working for the Telescope. All expenses paid trip, very insightful and just fun to break up the usual day-to-day rituals. I went to almost every design workshop, sat at every keynote, and took SO many notes. Coming back I’m feeling really motivated (if not a little exhausted) to continue designing and creating things even better!

    Key takeaways

-Typography and font affect the readability and “vibe” of the design

-Having your design be easy to look at makes it easier to communicate the message

-Don’t be too smart with your ideas. Sometimes less is more
